Champs Guthrie
2004 Silver Brown AQHA & NFQHA Stallion
Bar U Champ Binder x Uplands Peppy Wings Rest In Peace 2004 - 2010 Color tested: Ee Ata nZ GBED & Herda Tested: N/N PEDIGREE Champs Guthrie was a brown silver AQHA & NFQHA stallion by Bar U Champ Binder out of Uplands Peppy Wings. His sire, Bar U Champ Binder, was the 1st silver recognized by the AQHA. There are still only 2 known bloodlines that carries the silver dilution gene in QH's.
We bought Champs Guthrie from his breeders Cathy & LeRoy Vossler in August 2005. At that time our farm name was Meadow View Farm. He lived with us until May 2010. I sold him because my program was shifting so I could focus on breeding silver warmbloods (Safyre Sporthorses) with his daughters and I really wanted him continuing to produce silver AQHA's & APHA's. Unfortunately this was not meant to be. Guthrie passed away in September 2010. Although I miss him greatly, we were very blessed to have known him and for what he produced for us in his short time here. I am grateful for having had the opportunity to have had him in life and see how many people he touched and still touches through his fantastic foals. |

Publications
In 2009 & 2010 our horses were part of two publications in the Paint Horse Journal (see below)
The first article was in February 2009 issue called "Precious Metal" was about the silver dapple dilution 'Z' gene. Since there are so few silvers the APHA allowed writer Irene Stamatelakys to use AQHA horses in the article. Our stallion at the time, Champs Guthrie, was in both articles. His progeny, Solena MVF, was used to show off her white eyelashes that are sometimes seen on silver foals. Andretti MVF, now owned by APHA breeder - Silver Spring Farm, was shown as well.
The second publication was in the April 2010 issue. This article was called "Believe in Brown" and was about the brown gene. A photos of Champs Guthrie represented brown silver.
